I have Win 7/64 bit, and a few months back I found I couldn't download certain updates - the most recent being "Windows 7 Service Pack 1 for x64-based Systems (KB976932)". Whenever I try I just get the "failed to download" message. Any ideas on where to start to try and solve this?
Check the Windows Event Viewer when you do this to see if you get any more info on why it failed. You can also try downloading the Service Pack manually from here.
The low-end Mac Pro is the most overpriced Mac since the IIvx
Thanks - I manually downloaded the update, however, got a dialogue box saying some download components are missing from my OS, thus suggests I have to re-install Win7.
I think it may be time to get that MacAir I've been putting off.
I've run into problems with XP not installing a hot fix that it decided to download. It turned out that the hot fix was for a newer version of an app (RDC?) than what I had, but XP didn't notice that. The service pack should be immune to that, but who knows... Checked any Win7 forums for this issue?
