Hi guys...
Since I didn't succeed in installing OS X on my upgraded PowerMac 7300 and I didn't succeed in finding a good Java-Compiler for Mac OS 8/9, I've decided to install Linux on my PowerBook (which I use only for university stuff), just to be able to run a Java compiler and to compile and run my programs. I really need a Java-compiler for my programming homework for University, so I hope there is one available for Linux/PPC.
The PowerBook in question is a PowerBook 1400 with a 117MHz PPC603e CPU and 32MB of RAM. I don't need no GUI, just the Linux-Bash would do fine so I would be able to compile and run Java applications. Which Linux would you recommend? Would Debian fulfill my needs, including the Java compiler? Or would you recommend Mandrake (which I intend to install on my PowerMac now instead of OS X) with which I've been working on several Intel-computers for years now? Or Yellow Dog Linux, which I havn't seen yet...
