Hi guys...

I've tried Mandrake 8.2 and Yellow Dog Linux 2.2
Both CDs are recognized by MacOS 9.1 as Bootable Devices, nevertheless I can't boot from any of them. Neither on my PowerMac with the DVD-Drive nor the Teac-CDR nor the original Apple CD-ROM. Nor on my PowerBook.

What went wrong? Any ideas?

Did you try to mount the images before burning?

If you did that's the problem (likely). If you didn't tell me where the boot fails. Does it just boot into the Mac OS while you're holding down the c key or what?

Exactly. I've tried something else now, I've burned the YDL-iso using a Windows XP computer with Nero (did it before with Toast 4 on my PM). Guess what: Didn't work, still wont boot. Whether I hold down the c-key or choose the CD as Startup-Volume in OS 9.1.
The CD spins up, and that's it. Then Mac OS starts up from the harddrive.
The OS 8, OS 8.5 and even OS 9.1 CDs work great by the way, so it's definitely no hardware-problem.

Oh, and Mandrakes BootX won't work either, just a "Can't run BootX" after having chosen the settings (like graphical or text mode). I guess the Image might be corrupt, but that doesn't give an explanation why both YDL-CDs won't boot.
