I want to run some sort of u*nix on an LCIII. It really doesn't need to do much other than run a dns server. I want to use one of these because they're small and really quiet. The fans don't make much noise.

It should have an asante nic in it.

So what do you suggest? It doesn't have an especially big hard drive. FreeBSD, OpenBSD, or is there a linux for 68k machines I'm not aware of?

I don't want to run MacDNS on it as a mac because it's going to be run without a monitor, and i want to be able to telnet to it to change configurations, etc.

I dunno what it takes to run, but there is a release called 'mklinux' which was co-conspirated by Apple and Torvalds (I think.. either him, or some group in the Linux community) do a search for it at Apple..

MkLinux seems only run on NuBus PowerMac. For a 68K Mac, you need Debian.
