I've tried with no success. Actually the only distro I've ever gotten to run on a nubus PPC was MkLinux. With that said, you *should* be able to get it to work. Basically, you can do the install but you'll need the correctly adapted kernel for nubus search sourceforge (sorry I don't have the direct link), then find the root device (from your installation)and configure the MkLinux booter or another compatible with the nubus models (I believe there may be a 1.2 or early version of BootX that may work).
Although I haven't gotten it to work, really they won't run Xwindows well at all. The screen refresh is slow/unaccellerated and really not bearable.
If you just want it as a server and can access it via terminal and want the server aspects its great. For a desktop or XWindows box it will be fairly slow. If you want to just have the Xwindows for ease of configuration though you should be fine (editing with Linuxconf or such).
Good luck and please post if you have luck. You may be able to only get the 'Champion Server 1.2' edition of YDL to install on nubus. That may be old info though and it may work with the recent edition if you have a good kernel.
