I have tried to install YDK 2.2 on my QS 867 now for some time, and i can only install kernel 2.2 not the 2.4 one. I can only install with the text installer, but thats ok. But why cant I install the 2.4 kernel?

It's an QS 867, 640MB Ram, Airport card, CDRW, GeForce3 and a LG 915+ monitor.

Everytime i try to install kernel 2.4 i get a kernelpanic when the installer is about to format the HDD.

does anyone got any ideas? Or know where I can find som info about it?

The nVivia card is your problem. Although support for the geforce2mx has been added to YDL 2.2 the geforce3 is still unsupported.

I'm not sure why it specificlly panics when you try to format the HD or why the 2.2 doesn't have as many problems.

Have you been able to get a graphical interface running after the install with the 2.2 kernel? That would be very suprising to me.

Hi, no no gui installer in YDL (or Mandrake) but I can get YDL to work with the 2.2 kernel. If i change the driver in the XF86Congif-4 file to "nv" I can use my Geforce3 card and run KDE and all the aps just fine. But i would like to try the 2.4 kernel.

Do you know of any good Linux siters? (for mac)
