Hi. I'm compiling a bunch of stuff in Virtual PC using gcc 2.95. After a normal compile, it goes too slowly for normal use. I've seen the benefits of aggressive optimization on x86 for specific processors, and I was wondering what I could do in VPC for programs work better on the emulated processor. Thanks ;-)

The first thing I would sugest is to use gcc3 since it has much more optimization and although not final for the ppc it is for x86.

I'm not sure what processor class VPC emmulates so I would go for i386 which is what virtually all commercial software vendors do when compiling for any PC.

I believe it's a Pentium II with MMX. But it doesn't tell you the speed.

At least that's what it is when I install Windows 95 on it.
