Howdy folks,

I am having some issues buring a working ISO image for YDL 2.2. i have done this before wtih mkLinux, LinuxPPC, you name it. However, no sch luck this time around.

I downloaded the ISO via wget and then burned it using Toast Titanium 5.1.3. (In Disk image screen, click on Select and choose the ISO. I DID NOT mount the image)

Now, when I try to boot from the CD with it in the internal drive, it doesn't work. (Holding 'C'). If I leave the disk in the Firewire CD-RW drive, it won't boot, either, but it will show up if I hold option down on boot to get the graphical boot volume chooser. There is a little tux on the disk icon, and everything. If i choose the disc and boot, though, it times out and boots into MacOS.

Is this just a bad disc? I have burned to a CD-RW, should I try a CD-R?

I burned the disc on a TiBook 400 in an external Sony drive. I have tried booting it on the TiBook and on a Powerbook 2400 with an external SCSI CD-RW drive that normally works for booting from the MacOS CD, DiskWarrior, etc. I have booted linuxPPC on the 2400 from this drive in the past.

Any ideas?

Just try burning another copy onto another CD-RW or possibly CD-r. Or see if it will boot up another Mac. BTW FireWire drives are normally not bootable.

I just realized that I needed to use BootX to boot the 2400. How could i forget?

Anyway, now the 2400 will boot and begin the installation, but it always freezes at the end of the first package it tries to install. Upon reboot, it states that "package foo:bar is already installed and is the latest version" or something similar (Where "foo:bar" is the same package that the installer froze on the last time around...) I'm about to try to boot the TiBook after reburning to a CD-R. Wish me luck.
