I just tried to install YellowDog Linux 2.1 on a G4 400 (AGP - DVD). The installer got hung up during the DVD/CD configuration when it asked me to insert the YDL install CD (it was already inserted and the installer wouldn't recognize it, I guess).

Anybody run into this problem before? Any solution?

Thanks in advance.

I think YellowDog has a problem recognizing these newer drives. Its that or the firmware and bootstrapping thats actually hosed.

I'm frustrated by this also in a DP533 and a CD-RW.

I have tried YDL 1.x and 2.1 on a 400 with AGP/DVD. It is not as good as either SuSE 7.1 0r SuSE 7.3. My suggestion: Buy SuSE 7.3.
It is beautiful!

Ummm well Mandrake is good, as well. Yellow Dog always seems to have some issue or another.
