Are you a glutton for punishment? You are running YDL on a new
G4 and not OS/X?

ok let's check the settings. I assume you're using PPPoE with dynamic IP.
type

/usr/sbin/adsl-setup to re-setup everything...lasr question about configuration of the firewall set to 0, none.

then check /etc/ppp/options it must be empty, no lock option inside it.

if getting the dynamic ip check /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0

in that file IPADDR should be empty...i mean it SHOULD, sometimes it works assigning a private ip on the same subnet of the modem's ip too.

if you want to give a look at your firewall configuration you should walk into iptables..i am not sure you installed it or not..
