The new Linux based PDA using Pocket PC hardware specs:
Does it use a standard Linux distobution or a scaled down embeded
model? If so what are the sizes for each? The reason I ask is that
I'm wondering if Darwin could be ported to run on a StrongArm processor
and OS X (Aqua) or at least Quciktime could be made to run on top.
Any related replied appreciated.

The Sharp Zaurus (I assume this is what you are reffering to) runs embedded linux- which is a scaled down linux distro tuned for embedded devices.

Darwin could be scaled down and ported to StrongArm if someone wanted to. OS X and Aqua has speed issues on a 800 mhz G4 and an AGP 63MB Video card. So while anything can be ported to anything else with enough effort and detmination, it probably would not be worth the effort.

Paco is bitter about the loss of his .mac webpage. Image will return when his sadness lessens.

Dunno how great an idea that would be. In any case the best place I have found for info on the Sharp Zaurus is http://www.zauruszone.com

I bought the SL5000D at the Linux World Expo in NYC this past February. It is a really cool device. It will play most mpg123 format files with very good speed. It does not do well on a copy of Fat Boy Slim's "Weapon of Choice" video (the one where Christopher Walken does the dancing).

For the most part it is a very suhweet device. It has to get much better tho witht eh syncing to the desktop and whatnot. Lotta cool apps and functionality tho'.
