Is there any chance of updating Delicious Library to use the cheap (originally free, now $10 on eBay) CueCat scanner, the way bruji.com's BookPedia/DVDPedia/etc. do?

The CueCat encrypts the output. It's really crappy encryption (I cracked it a few years back after picking up a dozen CueCats from the local RadioShack), so you just need another app to sit between the hardware and DL to do the decoding.
There's also a hardware work-around. When you connect two leads to each other, the encryption doesn't happen anymore, so you get the raw output.

I'm not saying you should hack your CueCat to work with Delicious Library. I'm just saying that if I were interested in hacking a CueCat I would start by searching Google for "hack cuecat" and go from there.
