errr, why? It's his company, his private life and I'm pretty sure that if this should stop the development of his product, he would have the balls to say so...
Don't Panic, the Beta phase is surely soon over

Hopefully Wil gets some support in development to get this out the door, esp with most of the original codeauthors off the team.
I should point out there's not "guys" at Delicious Monster. There's me, plus two women. They're great. I wouldn't call them guys. though. 02:38 AM March 22, 2008 from twitterrific
We shall see it when it is ready, there's no use getting heated over it. Looking like a good product, Make it stable, correct, beautiful, and then fast.

In a short time I scanned 130 Games (from everywhere, Japan, US, Europe) from different game machines (Neo Geo, NEC, Super Famicom, etc) and it rocked solid up to now (continue testing the other 600 games left), so don't do your bad mouthing here, please.
I am pretty sure that if there isn't any new "big" issue found, the final release will be done soon, so just keep some patience please.
Cheers,
SolSat
Can you really blame people when there is never any official word on what is happening? Would it really have been that difficult for the DM staff to post here saying a new private beta was released today, just so that people know that something is actually happening.

Listen, I understand that this is frustrating, but I am sure they are busy programming (which I prefer knowing) than giving statements away on Forum (which I don't mind, prefereing them do the program).
Anyway, keep the high hopes, it is really going to be great

Yes but that is the point, you know they are "busy programming" because you have something in your hands that proves it.
The rest of us don't even have a statement confirming that anything has actually been done for months.
As a programmer myself, taking 2 minutes out at the beginning or the end of the day every so often just to post on your forums with a progress update is hardly a difficult task, especially when you have a public beta out which you are actively distributing, so you must be writing a statement detailing the changes/what needs testing etc anyway.
I had refrained from posting, even though I have checked this forum daily for the last few months, because I understand the problems developers encounter, but I can definitely understand why people are frustrated, because of the total silence from DM.

As it seems that everyone has quit probably because of Shipley's inability to deliver, it would be him not "they" who we think is working on it, yet he's wasting his time posting crap like this: Call Me Fishmeal. So really, why should we believe there is anything out there of this program? If he has time for his soft core porn fiction, then why doesn't he have time to give us an update?

Not sure...but you can bet your ass that he'll be out there saying to everyone how DL2 has broken all his sales records and how he's driving a Ferrari Enzo. But deep down we all know this isn't true...but let him dream. Let him dream about kissing a woman and hear her breath. Let him dream about breaking sales records and live on a 50 foot yacht. Won't you let him DREAM, MAN!

Gosh, what are you for a broken character?
Can't you just let him also have a private live, besides his programming?
If you have no patience, why you don't program an app like this yourself, if you consider it sooo easy?
I feel sorry for you,
Cheers,
SolSat

How come DM hasn't posted screenshots of v2 on the web to get people excited? Even Microsoft did that with Office, including a blog to show progress (or lack of for a certain email client). I don't care about the hype of this product or a closed beta if we can't see progress. Hype=vaporware until I see proof, other than what Apple Insider posted.

Regardless, according to the "March" timeframe given by Apple Insider, they have til midnight tomorrow to deliver it. Then again, they never specified 2008 as the year.

I got 5 bucks that says Shipley (pretty ironic name for someone who can't ship anything) will come out and say that DL2 needs 10.5.3 and wont come out until then.

Who else thinks DM should just sell Delicious Library to Panic? Those guys can ship, and are very responsive to suggestions and bug reports.

There is no denying that Delicious Library 1 was the hot app of its time. Hell, one of my PC-owning friends bought a MacBook and a handheld scanner specifically because he had thousands of books he wanted to catalog (an entire bedroom filled to bursting with books, books and more books). He later bought a second MacBook and a Mac Pro. Delicious Library was responsible for converting him to the Mac! I expect Delicious Library 2 to be equally as popular, if it ever makes it out the door.
But there can be little doubt that, when it comes to professionalism and a customer-first work ethic, Delicious Monster has failed miserably. DM's aloofness and total disregard for the customer is spectacularly bad. Every single person who bought DL1 is a customer. Every single person who plans to buy DL2 is a customer. And each passing day without some official word from DM is one gigantic middle finger in the air to those customers.
BTW, Shipley seems to have PLENTY of time to post to Twitter.
Mark
