I do event planning, and the Fire Marshalls require me or my staff to have a counter or some type of counter device to keep track of occupancy. He doesn't take kindly to not having one, trust me! Pen and paper or anything else will NOT do. Last week, we couldn't find one, and at 9pm on a Saturday night, we couldn't think of where to get one.
I sent a couple of my guys scrambling, and then it hit me... wait!
I got on my iPhone and looked up counters, and found 4 FREE ones! Downloaded it, and it was really nice. It doesn't reset when you leave it, and it keep track of totals, and INs and Outs, so you can get a composite for the evening.
Fire Marshall showed up, I showed him my "digital counter". He thought it was a great idea, and very creative.
Rare, silly moment, but it really made a difference in dealing with a city agency that is very tough.
