Hello --
Is there a way to "decouple" a Favorite name (in the Phone app) from the contact name? For example, I have both my parents in my contact list, and in both entries I've entered their home phone number. However, in order to call their home number, I'd like to have a favorite named "Parents". Is such a thing possible without creating a new - redundant - contact in the general contacts list (that would be, of course, synced with Address Book...)?

While I'm at it - if anyone knows how to make letters from non-Latin alphabets appear as a shortcut in the contacts list (in order to jump to relevant letter) without changing the iPhone's language, I'd be much obliged.

Thanks in advance,
Omer.

To quote a meme, "this is relevant to my interests." I have a number of entries in my iPhone's contacts that include my home phone number, but I have to select just one of them-especially when using Voice Commands-to get that one number dialed. With some specific tag for "Home Phone," I could just say "call 'my house'" and that'd do it.

You may be able to use OS X's Address Book to edit the contact to paste in a non-Latin special character, then it would probably sync up that way back to your iphone.

The problem isn't showing non-latin names. The problem is that the Contacts application doesn't show the alphabet links (the links that enable you to jump to names which begin with "s", for example) unless the whole iPhone language is non-latin (which do, BTW, show English letter links). So, if you have a substantial amount of people which you write in their original language, you can't access their names easily, unless I'm seriously missing something...
