The first OS X 10.8.3 beta includes drivers for AMD's Radeon HD 7900-series video cards, the 7950 and 7970, notes Netkas.org. The cards aren't in any current Macs; they're in fact based on AMD's new Graphics Core Next architecture, and are each equipped with 3GB of DDR5 RAM. It's believed that Apple could be including the drivers for the sake of a new Mac Pro.

CEO Tim Cook has promised that a new Pro will ship sometime next year. The current model is extremely outdated; even a performance bump in June gave the computer the Xeon E5645, a processor already two years old. Apple has steadily de-emphasized the professional side of its business during the past few years, for instance by killing off dedicated server hardware and devoting less effort to updating software like Logic and Final Cut.
