Adobe has posted early release candidate
versions of Lightroom 4.4 and Camera Raw 7.4. Unlike some previous updates, the new ones concentrate mainly on bugfixes. Adobe singles out a fix to the demosaic algorithms for Fujifilm cameras with an X-Trans sensor, examples being the X-Pro1 and X-E1.
The updates do however add support for nine new cameras. These include the Nikon 1 V3 and S1, Pentax MX-1, Fujifilm X20 and X100s, and Casio Exilim EX-ZR700. Newly-supported professional cameras include the Canon EOS 1D C, Hasselblad Lunar, and Leica M.
Lightroom is Adobe's photo workflow software, designed mainly around capturing, editing, and processing RAW files. Camera Raw is a needed plugin for Photoshop, extending the editing suite's RAW compatibility. Although RAW is meant to be a generic file format, different cameras still use different implementations.
