US retailers Best Buy and Walmart have begun new online sales on iPads. The former is selling third-generation iPads
at up to 30 percent off, for instance putting a 32GB Wi-Fi model at $384, $165 off retail. A 16GB 4G iPad, meanwhile, is going for $406.
Walmart has dropped the price of a 16GB Wi-Fi iPad mini
to $299. That's $30 below retail, and close to what a refurbished Mini normally costs, although Apple is currently out of Wi-Fi refurbs. Unlike Best Buy, Walmart is requiring that any online orders of the discounted hardware be picked up in person.
