The opening of a new Apple Store is always an event, and Apple fans in Adelaide, South Australia, were excited enough about the first Apple retail outlet in their state to line up hours in advance of the store's opening. A reader in the area supplied AppleInsider with pictures and video showing a sizable line of Apple fans patiently three hours ahead of the store's opening. Some had been there for 12 hours before that.

About 30 people were lined up for the Rundle Place opening, according to AppleInsider. The first line-sitters showed up at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday. The line had grown to 30 by 7:00 a.m., and the store was scheduled to open at 10 a.m. on Saturday. The Rundle Place location is South Australia's first Apple Store, meaning Apple fans in the area will no longer have to travel out of state in order to browse products or get repairs.

When the store finally opened, the crowds inside were even more impressive than the lines ahead of the opening. Within minutes, more than 300 people were in the store checking out products, consulting with Geniuses, and buying new devices.

Apple's physical retail outlets netted about $58 per visitor last quarter. On average, each of Apple's hundreds of stores worldwide pulls in about $13.1 million per year in revenue.

They sure must want those T-shirts really badly to get in line that far ahead of time. I guess they sell them on eBay for a bundle of cash. I wonder if that guy Packer is first on line.
