Feral Interactive has announced that a Mac port of Creative Assembly's Napoleon: Total War - Gold Edition
will launch on July 3rd. Players assume control of France, Austria, Prussia, Russia, or Great Britain during the Napoleonic era. Politics, economics, and research are controlled from a turn-based strategic map, while land and sea battles are fought in a real-time 3D view. The single-player battles and campaign are complemented by several multiplayer modes, including drop-in battles and full campaign sessions.
The Gold Edition incorporates all extra downloadable content, such as The Peninsula Campaign
, in which Napoleon fights against Spain, Portugal, and the UK for control of the Iberian Peninsula. Also bundled are three unit packs: the Imperial Eagle Pack
, the Coalition Battle Pack
, and the Heroes of the Napoleonic Wars Pack
. When bought from the Mac App Store, the game is Game Center-compatible.
Feral is selling Napoleon for $30. Players must have at least an Intel Mac with OS X 10.7.5, 4GB of RAM, 30GB of hard drive space, and 256MB of video memory. Certain video chipsets aren't supported however, and recommended specs include OS X 10.8.3, a 2.4GHz processor, 8GB of RAM, and 512MB of video RAM.
