Cloud storage service Dropbox has released a new experimental beta of its Mac client, testing out several features the company may want to push to the next official update. Among these is an iPhoto import feature, which allows albums and events in iPhoto to be turned into Dropbox albums viewable on the web. Similarly, a screenshot sharing option in the beta automatically copies a new screenshot to a special Dropbox folder, shares the file, and puts the public link in a user's clipboard.

A more general-purpose upgrade is the addition of a "Move to Dropbox" command in OS X's right-click contextual menus. The feature lets people quickly send files to the main Dropbox folder; organizing files into subfolders or turning on sharing requires extra steps.

Whether or not Dropbox will keep the new features is dependent at least partly on user feedback. The company will often choose to tweak its implementations, and sometimes pulled features can reappear at a later date.

I would love an "add to dropbox" option in the iOS photos app.
