Alongside other OS X and security updates on Thursday, Apple also released updated drivers for Epson scanner and fax models, as well as a small update to its Digital RAW Compatibility file for iPhoto and Aperture. The RAW Compatibility update follows on the heels of the recently-released version 4.08, and adds support for only one camera, the Olympus PEN E-P5, but also restores lens correction to images shot by the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX100, and addresses a white balance issue with some Nikon images modified by third-party apps.

The Digital RAW Compatibility update requires OS X 10.7.5 for Lion, and 10.8.2 or later for Mountain Lion. The file is 6.59MB in size, though this can vary depending on existing hardware when viewed through Software Update. It also requires Aperture 3.x or iPhoto '11.

The Epson driver update modifies drivers for the ES and Expression, F-3200, Perfection and GT line of standalone scanners, and the Epson FAX and FAX-A3 fax machines. No new models of Epson products were added in the update, but the file replaces all existing Epson drivers with fresh copies, even if they are unmodified from the previous version. The update weighs in at 1.08GB and covers OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard), 10.7 (Lion) and 10.8 (Mountain Lion). All the updates released on Thursday are available from Apple's Support Downloads page as well.
