The first Turkish Apple Store
will indeed open in January, says
the Turkish edition of the Wall Street Journal
. The outlet, still under construction, is situated between Burberry and Louis Vutton outlets on the grounds of Istanbul's new Zorlu Center. Apple's space is said to measure over 21,000 square feet, and include a cubic glass ceiling.
adds that Apple is hoping to build three other stores in the country. Turkey has, until recently, been a low priority for the company's retail expansion; most of the company's stores are located in the US, Canada, and the UK. Even countries like France, Germany, and Australia have fewer locations, although Apple has been placing more emphasis on international expansion in the past couple of years.
