BrainDistrict has updated its 3D modelling and rendering software RaySupreme. Version 1.5 provides users with improved rendering speeds and text-to-3D creation. Its text-to-3D feature enables users to create 3D objects and scenes by typing text descriptions. Other changes include new object display properties, instancing tools, a script-based plugin system, editing tools, and compositing features. Bug fixes are also featured in the latest update. Available for OS X, Windows and Linux, RaySupreme 1.5 can be purchased online for $40.

iRig BlueBoard: first wireless MIDI pedalboard for iOS and OS X

IK Multimedia has launched its latest music-creation accessory, the iRig BlueBoard. A wireless MIDI pedalboard for iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch and Mac, the device provides musicians with hands-free control of mobile and Mac music apps. The device is small enough to be transported in a backpack, and setup requires turning on the power, launching its companion app and assigning the backlit pads to the desired control function. Its Bluetooth function transmits the pedalboard's actions (with a range of over 32 feet) to the connected mobile device or Mac, so users can then use the iRig BlueBoard app and software to convert the signal into MIDI messages.

The iRig BlueBoard is compatible with any music app or Mac music-software that is MIDI-compatible, and can be controlled wirelessly. Battery powered with four standard AAA batteries (included), the iRig BlueBoard is priced at $100 and is available for purchase from the IK online store and at electronic retailers.

Anxiously awaiting the arrival of my BlueBoard (pre-ordered a couple months ago). IK makes great hardware and software.
