Google has released a major update to its Zagat app
for iOS devices, adding an iPad-optimized interface alongside the existing iPhone layout. The discovery guide also offers new content, including ratings and reviews for shops and hotels, along with listings for locations in Charleston and Nashville.
Version 2.0 is the first major update to the Zagat app since the company was acquired by Google in 2011. At the time, the search company noted that Zagat would become the "cornerstone" of its local offerings. Zagat reviews for restaurants, bars, hotels and other points of interest now appear within Google Maps and general location-based search results, though the iOS app still serves as a centralized portal for such content.
Zagat 2.0 is currently available as a free download from the App Store.
