Mixvibes has introduced the newest version of its cross-platform software, Cross DJ v3.1.0. The software provides users with the tools needed to DJ, such as browsing track catalogues, and monitoring playing track's peaks and phrasings. The new version allows for the ability of users to record their mix and share it on Mixcloud and Youtube, as well as Dailymotion.

CrossDJ generates a video file, and the video displays in real time what the track is playing, the name of the artist and the artwork associated with the track when working with Youtube and Dailymotion; with Mixcloud, users can export their mix, and Cross DJ automatically publishes a smart tracklist; and with SoundCloud, Cross DJ writes tracks names as a comment above the waveform. New equalizer presets and effects are available, and images are now managed like video files. Additionally, GIFs and BMPs and be animated, and new video transitions include "Push Swap" and "Wipe Rainbow". Pricing for Cross DJ v3.1.0 is available for $50, and Cross, the full pro DJ software, is priced at $130.

Mixvibes is celebrating the release by throwing a DJ competition, in conjunction with Mixcloud, Allen & Heath, and Creative and Nüba. Prizes for the top five entries include a flight to Paris and a DJ set at Nüba, and various gear from its sponsors. Those interested in entering are required to "like" Mixvibes, Soundblaster, Allen & Heath and Nuba Paris on Facebook; upload a 30-minute house music mix onto a Mixcloud profile; and tag the mix "Mixvibes 2014 DJ competition." Entries are due by May 4. Further details for contest entry are available through Mixcloud.
