Corel's Roxio division has released Toast DVD at the Mac App Store. The utility makes it possible to not only burn videos to DVDs or Video-TS folders, but add menus for navigation. There are 25 stock themes, and users can further customize colors, text, and backgrounds.

Videos can be formatted with options like different codecs and bitrates, 16:9 or 4:3 aspect ratios, and manual or automatic chapter markers. Projects can include DVD-ROM content and/or be saved as disc image files.

Toast DVD requires OS X 10.7 or later. Corel is charging $15 until May 31st, after which the price will go up an unspecified amount.

$15 is a VERY fair price for this utility. Yes there are other programs that can burn a basic CD or DVD for free, like Burn, but nothing else that provides decent themes and versatile functions the way Toast does. Glad to see they are still keeping it up.

Has anyone tried it yet? The App store reviews aren't very good right now. Otherwise this is a very competitive price, if it works.

Still trying to figure out after all these years why Corel never ported PanitShop Pro to the Mac platform.

I'm rather more surprised that Corel owns Toast now. It used to be Roxio.
