Some new chatter has emerged regarding possible Apple product launches. Claims are circulating that Apple's new 4.7-inch device will continue to use Gorilla Glass and eschew sapphire crystal. Also rumored, the 5.5-inch model with the sapphire screen is seeing production problems from low yield of acceptable screens, and is likely to have constrained supply through 2014.

The report comes from the China-based Economic Daily news service, and discusses what sources inside Apple manufacturers are saying about the new products. It also claims that the 4.7-inch phone will have LG and Japan Display-sourced screens, and will be widely available at launch, with 60 million devices ordered by Apple so far.

Another report by the trade paper claims that the Apple iWatch will see release in the third quarter, with production at Foxconn, Pegatron, Quanta, and Inventec. An OLED display is expected, but power draw issues are currently causing problems. Pricing is reputedly $349, with about 10 million units available at device launch.

The Economic Daily website has a decent track record of predictions of Apple future products, but not an impeccable one. None of the reveals are particularly surprising, and device constraints on a high-end product like the rumored larger iPhone aren't uncommon with Apple releases.
