The legal agency which represented Proview in its recently-settled lawsuit with Apple, Grandall Law Firm, is now suing its former client, reports say. Grandall says that Proview has failed to pay a promised 4 percent of Apple's payout, which translates to about $2.4 million. Apple settled with Proview for $60 million in order to secure use of the iPad trademark in mainland China. Proview founder Yang Rongshan has acknowledged a contractual obligation to Grandall, but says that the firm's actions are "nonsense." He argues that Proview isn't obligated to pay back the money immediately, as the company isn't operating under normal conditions. It's currently in the middle of bankruptcy proceedings; the money from the Apple lawsuit is expected to help pay off creditors.

Here's a hint for any attorneys out there:
If your client is suing Apple, it's quite probable they won't pay their lawyers.

Interesting contrast to American lawyers.
In America, lawyers typically take 40%, not 4%. Also in the U.S., the law firm would receive the settlement, and disburse the funds to the client, after taking their cut.

Wow, talk about stupid lawyers. The company is in bankruptcy. They're not going to get a dime, just like the company isn't getting a dime. They're just another creditor at this point.

Right, because the only people who sue apple must be crazy or immoral and would never pay their bill. I mean, they're suing apple. That should tell you all you need to know.

that's not necessarily relevant. you can arrange (before taking on consul) the fee structure..
handle the case win or lose
handle the case (pay only on WIN)
handle case (loser pays all fees)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Attorney's_fee
pretty sure if a LAW-firm sees fit to file suit, they were "assured" of their payment before they took the case on...

Greetings. I am unable to delete my posts, and apparently you moderators are on some kind of a strike.
Therefore, I have removed the content of the original post by hand.
I am asking for this post to be deleted, since I don't seem to have the option to do that myself.
