The Galaxy Note 2 that's
due for release on August 29 will have a 5.5-inch touchscreen with 1280x720 resolution, a Korean newspaper
reported. While this technical detail, among others, has been rumored before, the paper does seem to have had an early look at the actual device and thus confirms the official specs. The phone, known by the GT-N7100 model name, will also have an integrated stylus and support 3G as well as 4G networks.
The source also said Android 4.1 will be onboard rather than Android 4.0, while the onboard processor will be Samsung's 1.4GHz, quad-core Exynos unit that's also shared by the Galaxy S III. The screen will be a Super AMOLED panel, and the phone will be available in either 16GB and 32GB capacities, the source said. An eight-megapixel camera will sit out back, meanwhile. The device will also have softer, more rounded edges than the current Galaxy Note.
Pricing still remains unknown, however, but the phone is expected to launch in its home market of Korea in October. [
