A version of the Samsung Galaxy Camera with 4G LTE connectivity will be heading to Verizon, if a recent FCC filing is to be believed. Using LTE access in Verizon's section of the 700Mhz band, the camera appeared under the model number EK-GC120, a slight change from the EK-GC100 name the HSPA+ model used when it was certified.

Oddly, the filing covers the LTE access only and not other wireless bands used outside the US, according to Engadget. Unless there is a future amendment to certify the device for these other bands, it is likely that potential users will resort to using Wi-Fi or some other method of transferring images without resorting to cellular access. Other than the wireless specifications and the model number, there are no other changes to the Android 4.1 camera, which has a 16-megapixel backside illuminated CMOS sensor, 21x optical zoom, a 4.8-inch 1280x720 touchscreen, and pop-up flash. While the FCC filing effectively confirms that Verizon will be getting the camera, there has yet to be an announcement saying when it will be made available on the network, or if there will be an extra charge for the device to use the increased-bandwidth connection.
