Following on the heels of recent announcements, LG Display has brought many of its new TVs
and other hardware to Las Vegas for CES 2013. Electronista
has taken an early look at the company's latest Smart TV offerings, including several Ultra HD models, along with the UltraWide monitor and several other new IPS displays.
LG's 84-inch Ultra HD TV arrived on the market late last year for $20,000, showcasing the 3840x2160 resolution on a gigantic panel. The company has introduced 55- and 65-inch variants to complement the flagship model, and we were impressed by the whole lineup.
We also checked out the redesigned Magic Remote, which maintains a relatively compact build but adds speech recognition and other new features. We found the remote to be a bit awkward at first, though it did help to quickly navigate the Smart TV interface.
The company's 29-inch EA93 UltraWide monitor
, which arrived late last year in Korea, boasts a 21:9 aspect ratio and 2560x1080 resolution. The format bridges the gap between single- and dual-monitor configurations, providing a wide spread that lends itself to split-screen multitasking.
LG has yet to announce pricing details for its 2013 products.
