Samsung has revealed it's 4K-capable television at the company's CES press event, one which the electronics giant teased
as having an "unprecedented new TV shape and timeless design." The S9 Ultra-HD resolution screen measures 85-inches diagonally, and is fitted inside a freestanding and minimalist metal frame.
Using Samsung's proprietary up-scaling engine, the S9 can convert HD or Full HD video to the UHD resolution, while Samsung's own Precision Black Pro technology to provide a high contrast ratio and dimming controls. Audio consists of a 3-way 2.2-channel setup providing 120-watts of power, which is claimed to provide an audio experience six times better than normal TV sets provide.
The same Smart TV features as the rest of Samsung's 2013 HDTV
range are also present in the S9. A quad-core processor, applications and control by gestures and voice all make an appearance via the new Smart Hub
Pricing and availability for the S9 UHD TV have yet to be revealed, but 95-inch and 110-inch versions will be on sale before the end of the year.
