for the Google Nexus 7 will be shipping in the US in the next two weeks according to reports. If true, the Asus-manufactured official accessory for the tablet will finally go on sale six months after the Android-based slate went on sale, but is overshadowed by reports it will also cost far more than anticipated in the United Kingdom compared to the United States, something the company denies.
Sources of The Verge
disclosed the shipping window, as well as an expected price of $40 in the US. On the other side of the Atlantic, Pocket-Lint was
informed that the docking station will cost £80 ($130) in the UK, effectively triple that of the US. Electronista
received a statement from the company, stating "The Nexus 7 Dock will go on sale in our Eee Shop
shortly with a SRP of £24.99." This places the price of the dock in the UK at a more equal $40.
The Asus dock has spent a considerable amount of time in product development, with details about its launch being leaked as early as last summer, though reports earlier this month suggested it would be released at some point this month
. Another dock appeared in an Android holiday video
, propping up the Nexus 10, but no further mention has been made about the dock since.
