Today's Apple TV 5.2 update, released alongside iOS 6.1, adds a few new features. The most important may be the ability to stream music via iTunes in the Cloud, cutting out the need to stream from a connected computer or iOS device. Accordingly Apple has also incorporated Up Next, the feature first seen in iTunes 11 that shows what music is coming up and allows for quick editing of the playlist.

Another addition is support for Bluetooth keyboards, which should make it easier to search for content. Finally, users can now push the audio in Apple TV videos to other AirPlay-capable devices, such as speakers, an AirPort Express, or even another Apple TV. Unusually, Apple also appears to have released firmware (download) for a device identified as the "Apple TV 3,2." The current Apple TV model is the 3,1, and first shipped in March last year. The 3,2 is also listed as the J33I, though, perhaps signalling an international version of the regular J33. Apple recently started selling the Apple TV in a number of new countries, which may have demanded a separate firmware/hardware release.

This iOS 6.1 seems to be a more worthy update for Apple TV than for iPhone/iPad.

I'm confused. To quote:

"Finally, users can now push the audio in Apple TV videos to other AirPlay-capable devices, such as speakers, an AirPort Express, or even another Apple TV."
Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't that possible even before this update? A couple of months back, this feature was introduced on the Apple TV. I'm getting the feeling Apple is taking existing features that might have gone unnoticed by the general public and re-packages them as brandnew. Let me quote from the original article on the iOS 6.1 update (for iPhone & iPad):

"All iTunes Match subscribers, though, should now be able to download individual songs via iCloud."
Again - I've been doing that since iTunes Match came out in October 2010. Or am I getting something completely wrong here?

You could only stream music to multiple speakers prior to the update. iTunes Match subscribers were only able to download albums, now they can load individual songs

I'll be happy to give Apple my money for an ATV3 when they allow Plex client support. Otherwise, forget it.

Actually, I am waiting for FireCore to come out with flash for ATV3. It's been taking quite awhile. Recently my ATV3 is stuck at "syncing time" and cannot bypass like they say you can by pushing "menu".... still connects to the internet and want to upgrade my software through their stupid "software update available"... they cripple your stuff unless you update, typical crApple BS stuff! Anyone want to buy this POS?

Question: Why do you buy Apple products? Will you buy more in the future?

I buy 'em because it pays my bills. Do I recommend them?... It depends. Will I buy 'em in the future? I will, then I again I will quickly get rid of them like drenched socks. Just staying up to date as it is my thing for tech. Got some tech in the product pipeline myself I feel is "nothing like seen before"...so I was told by an interested client.
