Latin-owned BLU Products
has rolled out its new line of quad-core based smartphones running Nvidia's Tegra 3 processor clocked at 1.5GHz. The Quattro 4.5, Quattro 4.5 HD and Quattro 5.7 HD all center on large displays of 4.5-inches and up to 5.7-inches, while all run Android 4.1 'Jelly Bean.' BLU Products is targetting the lineup at the unlocked market, pricing the products accordingly.
The Quattro 4.5 centers on a qHD display and incorporates a 5-megapixel rear camera and the ability to shoot video in 1080p. Internal storage is limited to just 4G, although this is expandable by up to 32GB through the addition of a microSD card. System RAM is a solid 1GB, while the device goes on sale this week for $250 off contract.
The Quattro 4.5 HD utilizes an aluminum and glass unibody. It centers on an IPS HD display protected with Corning Gorilla Glass that features an iPhone Retina display equalling 326ppi. Its rear camera is upgraded to 8-megapixels with an f/2.4 large aperture designed to improve low light performance. Internal storage gets a bump to 16GB, while it too will be available this week for $350 off contract.
The BLU Products Quattro 5.7-inch HD device is targetted at the phablet market for users looking for a compromise between a tablet and a smartphone. It packs the same camera as the Quattro 4.5 HD, but reduces its internal storage to 4GB to keep its price point attractive. This is, however, expandable by up to 32GB. while resolution is a healthy 1280x720 pixels. It goes on sale in the US at the end of March for $300. [via Engadget
