Streaming music service Deezer
has signed new agreements with LG, Toshiba, and Samsung. The deals sees both Samsung and Toshiba smart televisions in various regions receive the app for the first time, while the LG will extend it's existing agreement with Deezer to cover more markets, and onto newer products.
Samsung will be making the app available on all smart TVs produced from 2011 onwards, but only in Europe. Toshiba smart TVs produced since 2011 located in Europe, the Middle East and Asia Pacific, but globally on its entire 2013 smart TV range, with LG smart TVs available globally and produced since 2011 also able to get the app. Despite being available in over 150 countries
including the UK and Canada, it will not be made available on smart TVs in the United States.
The Paris-based music service recently opened up an advertising-supported free option
to its customers, allowing unrestricted usage for a one-year period, before restricting users to two hours of music per month in order to encourage new subscriptions. Deezer also provides real-time analytics for artists and labels to monitor music playback, and offers an app development program and open API to help labels provide exclusive content to fans.
