The upcoming flagship HTC smartphone, the
M7, may actually be called the One, according to a rumor. The usage of the One would in theory capitalize on the company's One series of handsets, such as the
One X and the
One S, though if true, it could potentially cause customer confusion between a family of products and one single phone.
The update comes through a Twitter post
by EVLeaks, a source of a number of rumors that also happens to have a good track record of being true. In November, the account was the source of images showing the
Pantech Magnus for AT&T as well as the Verizon-bound
Samsung ATIV Odyssey, while in October photographs of the LG-made
Google Nexus 4 were on display.
Little in the way of specific details have been leaked as of yet. Though images and a
video have appeared online, there has not been any mention of what operating system it used, it's processor, nor even what kind of display it will have, aside from it likely measuring five inches diagonally.
HTC will be holding dual press conferences on February 19th, with the M7 or One smartphone launch being it's most likely subject matter.
