Adobe has released promised
iPhone and
Android versions of Photoshop Touch. The new apps are essentially identical to their tablet counterparts, but with redesigned interfaces meant to accommodate the smaller screen space, and a new set of tutorials. One absence in the iPad is specialized stylus support, which is featured in the Android edition.
The phone apps allow editing images up to 12 megapixels in size; the number of possible layers depends on a phone's memory. Images can be synced with the tablet and computer versions of Photoshop via Creative Cloud, though the option must be turned on manually. A free 2GB Creative Cloud subscription is available.
The iPhone and Android phone apps are $5 each. Android users must be running Android 4.0 or later, while the iPhone version requires iOS 6.0 and an iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, or fifth-generation iPod touch. The Android version does not support all stylus models, but does support some depending on the specific device and manufacturer.
