Google has updated the
iOS YouTube application, adding the previous Android-only "Send to TV" feature to both the iPad and iPhone versions of the app. Using the newly added feature, iOS devices can be connected to "smart" HDTV models and televisions that support GoogleTV, allowing content to stream from the device to the television. The feature supplements AirPlay functionality currently included in the app.
The "Send to TV" feature also streams to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, adds YouTube Capture integration, and improves streaming over slow Wi-Fi connections. Various bug fixes have been made as well. The universal application is free, and available on the
App Store now.
