British satellite TV provider
Sky has added its collection of sports channels to its pay-per-view video streaming service,
Now TV. Expanding on existing offerings provided by the subscription-based Sky Go, Now TV customers can pay to view all of the
Sky Sports channels unrestricted for a 24-hour period, though at a price.
Getting a 24-hour pass to all six Sky Sports channels will cost £10 ($15). In comparison, the same package of channels would cost Sky TV subscribers an extra £21 ($32) per month on top of an existing subscription, while Sky Go users can get it as part of a larger package for £35 ($53) per month. Now TV's existing
movie package that provides access to over 600 movies, Sky Movies Pass, costs £15 ($23) per month.
Though the price for occasional viewing of the channels is relatively high in comparison to existing subscription-based options, the Now TV offering is designed more for occasional sporting events that would not warrant the viewer paying for a longer period of access.
