Best Buy is reportedly going to play host to a number of pop-up Samsung shops in a number of its stores ahead of the Galaxy S4
launch in April. The temporary shops will apparently resemble the same "store-in-a-store" concept that Apple currently employs in Best Buy branches, and is said to provide customers more than one Galaxy S4 to try out.
The first Best Buy stores to receive the treatment will receive instructions to remove two aisles next to their existing mobile departments in preparation for the Samsung shop, according to information provided to Geek.com
. Custom demo stations, prominent Samsung signage, and a number of other Samsung products will be on display, while staff will receive special training sessions in order to demonstrate devices effectively.
Though the pop-up shop will be helping the Galaxy S4 at launch, the Samsung store-in-a-store will be around for a while longer. A second wave of stores will receive the same treatment later in the year, with the final result said to involve a Samsung store inside every Best Buy.
Allowing Samsung to build its own store-in-a-store may end up helping Best Buy slightly improve its financial performance
. The latest financial results showed it to have lost $377 million from $16.7 billion in sales, and though a Samsung store appearing in every branch won't affect the bottom line that much, it is still likely to be of some help to its current financial situation.
