A pair of patches are rolling out for Microsoft's Surface
tablet line -- one for the RT version, and one for the Surface Pro. The April Surface RT update is a Wi-Fi centric patch, attempting to fix reports of spotty connectivity. The Surface Pro update seems to be mainly focused on improved drivers, in addition to some screen touch navigation fixes.
As with all Surface RT updates
, the new update contains all the fixes from the previous four patches. Fixes made include some connectivity issues resolved, improvements to Wi-Fi to handle a wide range of access points, and system crash resolution caused by certain Wi-Fi issues.
Today's Surface Pro
fixes are the third issued by the manufacturer since release. Changes listed by Microsoft include fixes to an issue with on-screen touch navigation in the UEFI boot menu and resolution of some Surface Type and Touch cover connectivity issues. Support has been added for 106- and 109-key keyboards on North American Surface tablets, and an issue where toggling airplane mode would disable the Wi-Fi driver until device restart has been fixed.
