The specifications of Google Glass have been revealed through a Google support page. The internal details of the headwear are published at the same time as the company begins to produce units for the first wave of Glass pre-orders, along with Mirror API details for developers, and the a companion Android app.

The support page found by 9to5Google shows Glass as having a camera capable of recording 5-megapixel images and 720p video, 12GB of available storage synched with Google cloud storage, and Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity. The display is said to be the equivalent of a 25-inch monitor seen from eight feet away, audio is provided by a bone conduction transducer, and the battery is said to last one full day of typical use, though some features that use video will drain the battery quicker. While able to connect to any Bluetooth-enabled phone, it will require an Android phone running Android 4.0.3 or later in order to use the MyGlass companion app, which enables SMS messaging and GPS.

The first registrations for Glass have received an e-mail from Google, thanking them from "believing in us from the start." The e-mail, received by Engadget, mentions that the first wave of devices have been produced with more on the way, and pre-orders of Glass will be notified for collection in waves via e-mail.

Developers creating apps, named "Glassware," now have a section on Google Developers dedicated to Glass and the Mirror API, reports ZDNet. As shown previously at SXSW, developers are guided in what the best practices of Glass applications are, as well as video, image, and audio formats usable by the device.
