Two major TV networks, ESPN and Fox, have updated their iOS apps to support streaming to AT&T U-verse subscribers. WatchESPN
provides access to live feeds of ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN3, and ESPNU, but only for people who already subscribe to ESPN packages from specific providers. Aside from AT&T, these include Bright House Networks, Charter, Comcast, Cox, Midcontinent Communications, Optimum, Time Warner, and Verizon.FOX NOW
streams episodes of Fox TV shows like Bob's Burgers
, New Girl
, and The Simpsons
. The v1.6 update adds support for both AT&T and Suddenlink customers; previously, just Mediacom and Verizon were compatible. A number of other changes have been made as well, such as defaulting videos to fullscreen, and the addition of a "streamlined universal navigation drawer" to browse between shows, the Fox schedule, and bookmarks. Episode sync no longer requires a login.
