Google may be revealing an entire gaming framework to developers at Google I/O
next week, based on newly-released data. The Google Play Services component for Android includes support for various game-related features in a new update, including synchronizing saved games and various multiplayer components seen in a previous leak
The updated component includes options for creating multiplayer matches in games, including invites and automatic picking of players, according to Android Police
. Artwork and code included in the component show pop-ups that will come up for games with built-in achievements, as soon in other gaming systems, along with code for a leaderboard with various available views, such as by time or filtered by friends. A large amount of Google+-related items also appears in the code.
Considering the timing of the update, Google Play Games is likely to be officially revealed at Google I/O, allowing attending developers the chance to play around with the prospective system. It isn't clear if Google Glass
will also have some gaming components, but previous details for a gaming framework did surface in its companion app last month.
