Verizon has officially launched Verizon Cloud for iOS devices, as well as a broader slate of Android phones. The iOS app
is designed primarily for the iPhone, but can still be run on the iPad and iPod touch. Newly-supported Android phones include devices like the Samsung Galaxy S4 and the HTC Droid DNA.
The Verizon Cloud service lets users up back up contacts, photos, videos, and documents. For iOS users these functions are relatively limited, mainly letting people access and/or share content they uploaded to Cloud via Verizon's desktop software. On Android backup is more comprehensive, for instance expanding data types to include things like call logs and text messages. iOS restrictions normally prevent third-party apps from reaching that data.
The service comes with 500MB of storage for free; 25GB costs $3 per month, and 75GB is $6 per month. The peak option is a $10 plan that provides 125GB.
