A new carrier is attempting to be the first in the United States to cater towards the visually impaired. Odin Mobile, running on top of T-Mobile's network, will be offering mobile devices with accessibility features for those with limited vision, as well as providing customer service specifically with visually impaired customers in mind.

The carrier will be offering user guides to customers in Word and HTML over e-mail, and its support team will know about the various accessibility options available in smartphones, according to Engadget. Odin will also be donating two percent of its voice and text revenues to organizations that provide help to the visually impared.

As part of its launch in July, Odin will be offering the RAY Huawei Vision, a smartphone built for eye-free operation. Running on Android, the Ray has a four-inch 800x400 display, a five-megapixel camera, 12GB of storage, a 1GHz processor, and a 1500mAh battery. More importantly, its software will help users navigate through its system, allowing for calls, texts,, GPS, a voice recorder, money and color recognition, and access to audio books, newspapers and magazines. While Odin will be selling the RAY for $300, it will also be offering other devices for those with limited vision, such as the Emporia Essence and Emporia Click for $50 and $73 respectively.
