Samsung has opened up its ATIV Book 9 Lite
range of notebooks up for pre-sale in the United States, ahead of its release in stores at the end of this month. The ATIV Book 9 Lite notbook was revealed by the company in June
, alongside the QHD+ ATIV Book 9 Plus, and offers a 13.3-inch ten-point multitouch display running at 1366x768.
Supplied with a quad-core AMD A6 processor clocked at up to 1.4GHz, the ATIV Book 9 Lite uses 4GB of RAM, AMD Radeon graphics, a 128GB SSD for storage, and a 720p HD webcam. Micro HDMI, Mini VGA, USB 2.0, and USB 3.0 ports are accompanied by a three-in-one memory card reader, its battery is said to last for up to 5.5 hours on Mobile Mark 12 and 8.5 hours on Mobile Mark 7 testing, and weighs 3.48 pounds.
Samsung's SideSync technology makes an appearance in the notebook, which allows for the ATIV Book 9 to take control of various functions of a connected Samsung smartphone. Connecting over USB, SideSync lets the user compose and reply to text messages on the smartphone using the notebook's keyboard, as well as to view and edit files stored on the device. While similar functionality is available to users through Samsung's Kies smartphone management software, SideSync is said to be a comparatively more unified experience.
Pre-sales of the ATIV Book 9 Lite start from today, with shipments and in-store availability set to start from July 28th, at a cost of around $800.
