The next edition of Samsung's Galaxy Note III appears to already be somewhat finalized just a month or so ahead of its expected introduction. Images purported to be from the unreleased device were posted to photo sharing site Picasa and picked up
this week. The model number of the device that posted the images is SM-N9005, which is in keeping with Samsung's model numbering for the Galaxy Note series.
The metadata contained in the image reveals little in the way of information about the device other than its model number. Observers note that the Note III could come in two variants: one the SM-N900 with the Exynos Octa 5420 chip and the other with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset with LTE support. Samsung has been unusually adept at keeping the particulars of the device's design and specifications secret ahead of its launch.
The Note III will be the third entry in the Note line of smartphones, coming a year after the well-received Galaxy Note II
. Samsung has seen success with its line of stylus-enabled Android devices, with the Note II hitting the five million sold mark
in just 30 days.
The Galaxy Note III will likely debut at this year's IFA 2013 in Berlin, as did its predecessors. That event is scheduled for September 4.
